Not all traders are the same. Most are pleasant and quite competent. Most are honest and don’t cheat. Some work to speed up play for the benefit of both the casino and the dealer: the more games played, the bigger the casino wins and the more tips the dealer gets. Recognizing this, you may prefer to play at a table where the dealer is friendlier and gives players more time to think before acting.
My biggest concern is that dealers make mistakes that can “steal” your chips. Recently I played a hand where I caught a straight on the turn. It’s a big pot. I grew up in the river and was summoned by an enemy. I raised my hand and showed my straight. He opened his hands: two pairs.
Halo69 With a big smile on my face as I prepared to receive the chips, the dealer began sliding them to my opponent. To say the least, I was blown away. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Luckily, I reacted quickly and spoke while shouting out loud, “Hey, I’ve got a straight!” At this point the dealer still has the chips in the pot and stands. Then he studied my cards and the board, slowly changing direction and pushing the chips straight into my path.
I was so happy to win that big pot that I didn’t tell the dealer. (But I didn’t tip him, he didn’t deserve it.)
Of course, traders are only human and they can make mistakes, as we all do sometimes. However, some do it more often than others. This could be a factor in deciding which casino to play at.
